Ella (2014)

WINNER of the 2014 NASA Humans in Space Art Challenge

NASA’s International Space Station and the Humans in Space Art Program created a video challenge to explore how space, science, and technology would benefit humanity. I teamed up with old colleagues who both share mutual interests in space, science, and animation to take on the challenge by producing a story that would portray these themes. With only a month on our back, our ideas soon evolved into a short 2D animated film about a young scientist, who learns that her sister is sick, and thus must turn to the stars for help. We won overall first place, beating 144 other entrants from 16 different countries, and had our film premiere in outer space! I was an art director, background artist, animator, and editor on this project.
